  Meet Our Staff
RaChelle Laux; MS, LPC

I am the passionate and heart-motivated President and Clinical Director of the Oshkosh Counseling Wellness Center. Since 1983, we have served over 13,000 patients through the clinic. My work encompasses promoting growth through exploring life experiences and I have advanced training in Child and Adolescent treatment, as well as ongoing training in Bio Nutrition, Wellness, and Relapse Prevention. I approach each new client with an open mind, knowing each individual is unique and thus each course of treatment must be customized to their needs with regard to the mind-body wellness emphasis.
 

Dr. Leona F. Dempsey; Ph.D., RN, MSN, APNP, BC

I am an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber with over 35 years of experience. I utilize a collaborative approach with each person who seeks my service, which helps ensure the best possible care. With this approach, medication assessment and follow-up as well as health teaching and referral to other services as needed, provide holistic care to each person.


Liv Arafat; LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with specialized training in narrative therapy, EMDR, and attachment therapy, experienced with people of all ages. My approach is narrative and holistic, collaborating with clients to help them explore, revise, and enrich their personal or family stories.

 

Chérie Lindberg; MSE, LPC, NCC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with specialized training in attachment therapy and EMDR, experienced with people of all ages. My interests include: neuroscience, human development, trauma, and how these disciplines impact the brain. My passion is traveling on a journey with the client to discover how their past care-giving relationships impact their current relationships. Together we create a plan for the client to reclaim purpose and meaning in their life.


Cathy Hoffman-Manthey; MA, Art Therapist 

I received my B.A. and Master's Degrees in Art Therapy from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI. I returned to school "mid-life", as a student to follow my life's passion for art and helping people. I engage in art to help my spirit continue to grow. I approach my profession from a Humanistic standpoint - being with, doing with and honoring my client's lives through trust and unconditional positive regard. Art heals- the therapeutic use of art materials, art images and the creative process offers a window to one's inner and outer world, to express life's unique struggles.


Mark Stahl; MSE, LPC, NCC, SAC, IDP-AT

I am a Licensed Professional and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with a masters of Science and Education-Counseling and I'm also certified in conducting OWI assessment for the state of Wisconsin. I firmly believe that everyone has the resolve within themselves to overcome personal struggles and achieve overall wellness. By establishing support and trust with the client, and using a variety of approaches, the client is able to start hearing his/her inner voice.


Alicia Werch; MSE, LPC, NCC, CSW, SAC

I am a 3000 hour Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Social Worker with 10 years of counseling experience, 10 years of teaching experience and 6 years of AODA treatment experience. I use a person-centered approach and I believe in using medications in addition to therapy when appropriate. Personal wellness through healthy living and spirituality are also encouraged. Clients are listened to and are empowered toward personal growth. When appropriate I am a teacher, educator, mentor, and advocate.

Specialists

Chrystal Higginbotham; Massage Therapist, LM

I am an artist practicing the healing art of massage therapy.  I graduated Magna Cum Laude from an 800 hour intensive massage program at Miller-Motte Technical College In Clarksville, TN.  I am licensed in both Tennessee and Wisconsin.  My specialties include Deep Tissue, Prenatal and Hot Stone Massage, and my own technique, stone integration therapy.  I have spent the last four years pursuing my passion for sharing the gift of touch with my clients.  Massage therapy is a wonderful tool that aids in the emotional, physical, and spiritual healing process.  Massage offers hope to those who've lost it, relief to those in pain, renewal to the tired or weary and beckons all to live well.

Vicki Gongorek, CMT

I am a graduate of Blue Sky Professional Massage School. I am also state certifies with the National Certified Board of Therapeutic Massage & Body Work, the highest credential in the profession. In addition, I am board certifies in Swedish Relaxation, Craniosacral, Therapeutic Touch, Compassionate Touch, Precision Neuromuscular Therapy (PNMT), reflexology, sports massage, and chair massage.



Dr. Kari Uselman; Biofeedback Specialist, Ph.D.

I am a doctor of Philosophy and Education, a Biofeedback Specialist, Reiki Master Teacher, and Craniosacral practitioner.  Using Biofeedback Technology, I am able to detect deficiencies in vitamins and minerals, as well as work with individual clients on pain management, weight loss, stress reduction, smoking cessation, learning disabilities, emotional issues, and more.  By using a combination of body manipulation and electrical stimulation, I am able to uncover stressors that have been affecting the body's ability to heal and recover its natural vitality.  I have facilitated healing sessions and educational programs since 1988 and my passion is to inspire and make positive differences in peoples' lives.

 

Jeffrey Stieg; RP, IARP 

As an advocate of whole health and individual care, I assist my clients in realizing their full potential and offer practical tools to improve overall wellness. My specialty lies with correcting imbalances in the physical body, the subtle energetic body, and the mind. I received certification at the master level in the Usui Reiki tradition and am currently completing a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and Health from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. I am also completing a 200-hour certification in yoga instruction and ayruvedic medicine from the Himalayan Institute. Each client can expect an educational, uplifting, and healing visit through compassionate and thorough care.


Bobbie del Plaine

After experiencing chronic pain for years, I found that cranial sacral was a gentle way of reducing that physical and emotional pain. Success in that recovery strengthens my resolve in healing others experiencing similar symptoms. I am a certified Massage Therapist who has chosen to specialize in Reiki and Cranial Sacral Therapy due to my personal experience. I am also certified Veterinary Massage and Rehabilitation Therapist, which expands further on my already wide base of knowledge in this field. I work with each patient on an individual basis, allowing me to access individual needs and personalize treatment. I am a caring and compassionate person and conduct myself in a professional manor treating all clients and peers with respect.


Jeff Scherer, Integrative Wellness Specialist/ Transitions Lifestyle Instructor 

I specialize in working with natural supplements that promote health and wellness. I provide individual consultations, and support the staff in understanding the role of natural supplements. I also work with the Transitions Lifestyle program, promoting weight-loss through low-glycemic eating and workshops that help others understand the role of stress, eating, and exercise to promote health.

Mary Walter

As Account Manager, Mary works with accounts receivable, general accounting and assists clients by providing information related to insurance billing and related financial issues by triaging all billing problems.


Amy Cornwall

As manager of administrative services, Amy promotes client health through providing caring customer service in a positive and professional manner.
