History of Homeopathy: The Natural Choice
In 1796, Essay on New Curative Principles was published by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), in which he first introduced the principles of homeopathy, a medical philosophy which used highly diluted and specifically processed formulas. This was not the first time in history that treatment based on similarity had been used, but it was the first time it had been systemized into a science. Dr. Samuel Hahnemann was a German physician, whom was well known for his work in chemistry, pharmacology and toxicology. Through a series of experiments and scientific study based upon the Law of Similars, Dr. Hahnemann was led to the discovery of a unique and often confusing principle of homeopathy - the Law of Infinitesimal Dose, or Minimal Dose. He discovered a process of creating a pharmaceutical with less active chemical agents, but more energetic properties while reducing toxic side effects. The first US homeopathic medical school was established in Allentown, PA in 1835 by Dr. Constantine Hering, a student of Samuel Hahnemann. In 1844, the American Institute of Homeopathy was formed as the first medical association in the US. By the turn of the century, 15% of physicians in the US were homeopathic physicians, there were 29 homeopathic medical journals, 22 homeopathic medical schools and 100 hospitals of homeopathy in the US. "The highest ideal of cure is the speedy, gentle, and enduring restoration of health by the most trustworthy and least harmful way." -Dr. Samuel Hanneman, Founder of Homeopathy RaChelle Laux; MS, LPC, Biofeedback Specialist, Homeopathic Practitioner
Almost all of my clients are seeking economical natural solutions to optimizing their health and peace of mind while decreasing the costly trends in health care. All ages can improve sleep, energy, balance in the nervous system, decrease anxiety, improve digestion and elimination functions, and improve metabolism and detoxification. Homeopathy is well suited to self care and can become an integral part of your, and your family's, health maintenance program. It is safe for all ages with no side affects. The attending practitioner is not an allopathic doctor (MD) and does not portray herself to be thus. Allopathic drugs, surgery or chemical stimulants are not offered. In addition she does not treat or prescribe for any disease or illness, or perform any act that constitutes the practice of medicine for which a license is required.
How is Homeopathy Used?Homeopathy is a safe and effective system of natural medicine which uses tiny quantities of specially prepared substances to help the body heal itself. There are 5 major types of homeopathic therapy.
Nosodal Therapy- Used to assist the body in recovering from disease states and may also be used preventively as a safe alternative to immunizations.
Sarcodal (Glandular) Therapy- Used to help rebuild organs or biological systems that have been weakened or damaged. Sarcodal therapy serves as a biological blueprint to reset the system and bring functions back to normal.
Allersodal Therapy- In some ways this is similar to the progressive desensitization of conventional allergen injections which introduce an allergen to the body in ever increasing concentrations until the body no longer reacts with cascading histamine reaction. Allergens introduced homeopathically to the body have the same effect, except they reset the responsiveness at the cellular level (instead of external allergens), interacting with the surface receptors on the over-reacting cells.
Isodal (Detoxosodal) Therapy- Used to detoxify the body (ridding the body of any substance which may be contaminating the body or exerting a toxic effect on the living system). Nutritional Therapy- Vitamins, minerals and supplements can be prepared in homeopathic potencies and still have a substantial effect. Research shows that low doses of high quality, natural vitamins function better in-vivo than mega-doses of synthetic vitamins.
